Tonik Ensemble
Tonik Ensemble is the musical output of Icelander Anton Kaldal Ágústsson. Exploring the vast expanse of the electronic spectrum, it is a strong signature sound of contrasts: rich and stripped bare, minimalist but intricate, finely crafted and yet very instinctive. As a composer, Anton explores the synaesthetic intersection of sight and sound. He discovered early that through synaesthesia, color has a strong influence on the sonic palette. Eight track album Snapshots, released early 2015, met with critical acclaim earning Album of the year titles from The Reykjavik Grapevine, Straumur, and award from Kraumur Music Fund. His second album is due for release early 2021.
